Into the Father's Hands

One of the things I am finding difficult during these times is the distance from my family.

It's hard not to be able to visit, or have them to visit me, especially my grandchildren.

I've heard others voicing the same feelings too in recent days.

It's even more difficult when we know they are having their struggles, and we feel kind of helpless to assist, it's all very well speaking over the phone or texting, but often what we really want to do is give them a big hug.

However, I woke this morning with the words of a hymn running through my mind.........

"Father, I place into your hands my friends and family,

Father, I place into your hands the things that trouble me,

Father, I place into your hands the person I would be,

For I know I always can trust you"

And so, I heed the words of the hymn, and I remember the words of the Saviour, who in his darkest moments said, "Father into your hands I commend my spirit"

What better place to leave our loved ones and ourselves, than in the hands of the Father who knows and understands our deepest needs and longings.

In the storms of life we’re sheltered, Inner peace and joy abound; We are held in the Father’s hand… And there is no safer ground.

We may never know His reasons – We may never understand, But the God of all the seasons… Is working His perfect plan.

Our sovereign God is over all – This whole world, and every man; In Christ, our Lord, we need not fear… We’re Safe in the Father’s Hand.

“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.” Jesus said: “No man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” (Ps 4:8; Jo 10:29)

God bless your day.
