MONDAY HOLY WEEK 2020

Monday Holy Week 2020

“Everything that happens on earth happens at the time God chooses

God sets the time for birth and the time for death

The time for sorrow and the time for joy

The time for tearing and the time for mending

The time for scattering and the time for gathering

The time for seeking and the time for losing

The time for keeping silence and the time for speaking

Everything that happens on earth happens at the time God chooses.”

Everything that happens on earth happens at the time God chooses,

a time for scattering and a time for gathering"

At the close of Palm Sunday, Jesus retired to Bethany where he spent the night.

Next morning he returned to the temple courts and began to drive out those who had were buying and selling there.

Jesus was angry; the temple, including the temple courts were made to adore and worship the Holy One, with reverence, and fear of God, for in it was the real presence of the Lord.

The temple was not made for to profit merchants and their selling of animals for sacrifice at exorbitant prices, nor for the money-changers who made great profit by changing Greek and Roman coins for Jewish currency, the only currency accepted by the priests and rulers.

These traders and merchants, in complicity with the priests and rulers, were profiting from the poor, and the pilgrims who came to Jerusalem to sacrifice during the Passover.

The temple had lost its first love, the worship and fear of the Holy One and was now in the hands of a greedy and corrupt priestly class, who oppressed the poor; the focus of the worship had changed to worldly affairs.

This truly was outrageous, and what Jesus did, was to remind all those in the temple that the true worship was to the Father in His own house.

Jesus taught them saying, “Is it not written : my house shall be a house of prayer for all nations, but you have made it a den of robbers.”

On the Monday of Holy Week Jesus is making a stand for all things holy. He was trying to impress upon people the holiness of God and his temple.

Calling people back to the heart of worship.

When the Trader, and money changers were scattered, the blind and the lame were gathered in and Jesus healed them, and children came, shouting "Hosanna to the Son of David"

I believe Jesus wants this day to clear the clutter from our minds and our hearts, not with an angry voice, but with a voice filled with longing.

“Come back, come back, worship me now in spirit and in truth”

"Let me heal you and make you whole,"

When the music fades

And all is stripped away

And I simply come

Longing just to bring

Something that's of worth

That will bless Your heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship

And it's all about You

All about You, Jesus

I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it

When it's all about You Jesus

King of endless worth

No one could express

How much You deserve

Though I'm weak and poor

All I have is Yours

Every single breath

I'll bring you more than a song

For a song in itself

Is not what you have required

You search much deeper within

Through the ways things appear

You're looking into my heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship

And it's all about You

All about You, Jesus

I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it

When it's all about You Jesus
